How do you curate these tours?
Unlike most other travel websites we prioritize quality over quantity and hand-pick the tours based on 3 criteria:
- 1: We must have done the tour ourselves and loved it;
- 2: The tour must consistently receive good reviews, and
- 3: The tour operator must give back to the community and make an effort to minimize their impact on the environment.
Are there any "unmissable" tours I shouldn't miss?
Yes, but not that many. Unmissable for us means the tour is both uniquely Hawaiian and memorable enough that you keep talking about it after you fly home. On Oʻahu, these are the ones we would point a friend to first:
- Snorkel with honu: green sea turtles feed on the South Shore reefs year-round. Take a morning boat, before the afternoon trade winds put chop on the water.
- Sail off Waikiki: a catamaran leaves straight from the beach with Diamond Head behind you. The sunset departures book up first.
- Pearl Harbor: the shuttle to the USS Arizona Memorial runs on free timed tickets that go quickly, so reserve ahead instead of relying on walk-up standby.
What about free cancellation?
Most tours shown here offer free cancellation. The window is typically 24 to 48 hours before the activity, with a few requiring up to a week's notice.
The one exception is a tour with no free cancellation policy. It is marked prominently on its page and during checkout, so there are no surprises.
